We Want To Help You #CelebrateWomen This International Women’s Day

Our President, Sarah Priestman, speaks out on why we want to help you #CelebrateWomen this International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day.  What better time to reflect on the women around us, and the impact they have on our professional and personal lives. For our agency, this month also marks a successful first year of business in North America– a happy coincidence, as not only do women form the bedrock of the Sense New York team, but during such a daunting and formative year for us, the support, advice and inspiration that has come from women, has been our burning North Star.

From those who wowed us on stage at industry events – putting fire in our bellies and ideas in our heads – to those who provided an essential soundtrack for late night pitch work, and a book or boxset show to escape into, when the work was done. Those who offered their time when we needed guidance and an honest opinion, made introductions when we lacked a network, suggested cocktails when nothing else would do, or were just unwaveringly there. And, finally, those who dominated the headlines and our social feeds – reminding us to be strong, heard, and most importantly, our authentic selves.

The impact of these moments can’t be underestimated.  No matter what the future holds, they have left an indelible mark on the foundations of our business, and the way we work today.  That’s a pretty empowering feeling.

To celebrate and fully acknowledge this moment, we have created a series of eight striking illustrations – one released each day between March 1st – 8th,  featuring women we, as a team, feel have made great strides in 2017, and who motivated us during our first year of business.  Women who are changing the world through their unapologetic presence and self-expression. Women we aspire to be like, because they encourage us to be ourselves. Women we hope will embolden others.

These women come from all genres and walks of life – from art to activism, and everything in between.  They are the women we think of when we need a boost, or when we wonder how to tackle a challenge.  They are an imaginary extension of our team, and help us through the example they set, to work in a way that enables women to thrive.

The artwork will be shared across our social networks and is available to download from our website here. We hope other women will be inspired by the work and words of wisdom from our ‘sheroes’ and will further spread the love, by sending the images to friends, family, clients and colleagues, who inspire them, and deserve to be celebrated, too.

This initiative is a collaboration between our favorite female Creative Director in NYC, Nathaly Charria, and our supremely talented in-house illustrator, Alana McDowell in London.
